This PC came in with some minor issues and was a simple repair, but the owner was sick of having the same static blue lights all the time and so was looking for a change of colour and if possible an upgrade that would make a big difference. They had a limited budget so a new GPU was out of the question and unfortunately the build was based on the old AMD platform AM3, meaning there was no cheap and easy way to upgrade the CPU or RAM without going over budget for a new platform swap. Instead, we looked at their boot drive which was a single mechanical hard-drive.
So, we removed the old blue LED strip which you can see was just hanging there, gave the whole PC a nice clean and redid a lot of the cable management which was a bit lacking before. Then we hooked them up with a new SSD, a fresh windows installation, and found a nice priced pack of addressable RGB Fans. They got a noticeable bump in everyday performance and the PC got a colourful makeover:- they now can go with any colour they feel like, and if they ever feel nostalgic they can always go back to blue.
