Binding of Isaac Repentance Coming in March
The release date trailer for the third expansion pack for the Binding of Isaac: Rebirth dropped this week.
The expansion pack based off the popular fan mod Antibirth is coming to steam on March 31. In fact, the games creater was so impressed with Antibirth he got in contact with and worked in conjunction with the mods authors to bring their mod into the game proper and make it canon.
The expansion pack called Repentance was first announced back in August 2018 but was delayed multiple times.
As well as most of the content from Antibirth, Repentance will also include completely new items, characters and maps. Currently there seems to be 130 new items being added, taking the total number of pick-ups in Isaac to over 700.
The expansion will also improve the co-op system. Currently the second player in the Binding of Isaac: Rebirth can only play as a ‘Baby’ which could only play a minor supporting role assisting Isaac.
With repentance players will now be able to control an Isaac each.
A battle in EVE online has cost players the equivalent of over $340,000 USD
A recent battle in EVE online which more than 13,700 player participated in, resulted in the destruction of 250 Titan ships and 23 Trillion ISK the in-game currency which is the equivalent of around $340,000.
EVE Online is a complex sci-fi MMORPG which allows players to partake in a number of in game professions and activities from mining, piracy, manufacturing, trading, exploration, and combat.
In the game, which is set in the galaxy of new Eden, Alliances which are comprised of thousands of players use spaceships to battle one another in huge PvP encounters.
The games own news site, The New Eden Post reported that the battle in question saw the record for Titans destroyed in a single conflict.
EVE has its own in game player driven economy. Nearly every item in the game must be built from scratch by actual human players – so, for example, if you don’t want to mine the minerals needed to build key components of your spaceship, you have to pay someone ISK. It creates jobs, hierarchies and as IGN puts it an uncanny mirror to our normal routine as some players set alarms to get to their “shifts” on time.
This is why the in-game currency is traded for real world money across the internet.
EVE Online was first released in 2003 and has maintained a loyal fanbase ever since.
A Lost Remake of the Original Tomb Raider has Resurfaced
Tomb Raider: 10th Anniversary was a remake of the original Tomb raider game for the PSP that was cancelled in 2006. According to PC gamer, it has currently resurfaced as a playable alpha.
The game was being developed by Core design and despite almost being finished it was cancelled in favour of a cross-platform remake pitched by Crystal Dynamics, which was released in 2007 as Tomb Raider: Anniversary.
The assets of the cancelled game were to be reskinned and used for an Indiana Jones game which was also never released.
The playable alpha which can be downloaded through the Internet Archive features the climbing, swimming, and general platforming of the original game minus dialogue and enemies.
When you download the files from the internet Archive you’ll need to follow the instructions on Tomb of Ash to get the game playable.
It’s a nice little look into what could have been.
