If any one has been paying attention to Bethesda's twitter account this announcement will come as no surprise as for the last week or so they have been teasing something, which many people have guessed correctly to be an announcement for RAGE 2. The fact that Walmart accidentally listed the game online made this a bit easier to guess. The somewhat cinematic live action trailer doesn't reveal much at all about game play bar it looks to be set in some sort of Mad Max meets Borderlands post apocalyptic world, similar but somewhat more colorful and slightly wackier when compared to the first installment.

The best part about the trailer for me is the end where we are informed that a worldwide game-play reveal will be released tomorrow May 15th. Before the leak and subsequent tweets from Bethasda Rage 2 would not have been every ones first choice when asked what will be the next big Bethasda game, although many enjoyed the first it didn't quite make that big of a splash when launched only receiving mediocre reviews. I'm cautiously optimistic about it but will withhold any opinion until I at least say the game-play reveal tomorrow.

Game-play trailer update.

Since yesterdays announcement it has been confirmed by Avalanche Studios that they are indeed the ones behind the game but working in close collaboration with id Software, of DOOM fame, which is great news to me as having the mixture of  the recent Mad Max game with the FPS know-how of id seems to to be a great combination.

Now this is a bit more what I wanted to see, although I have to admit I am a bit disappointed we didn't get more uninterrupted game-play this still looks very promising. The scene starting around 1:12 just screams of the movement/Gunplay of the recent DOOM which really got me excited. Admittedly i'm possibly reading into the trailer a bit too much here but there where a few scenes where it look to be some co-op potential, possibly they are only NPC allies but man I would love me a fully fledged co-op game, and after the disappointing Destiny 2 and no official word for a borderlands 3 this could very well be a niche ripe for the taking. The game has piqued my interest already, but add in some online/local co-op and I will purchase my ticket to the "Hype Train" right god damn now. Also that Andrew WK kicking in really suits the game/setting really well. Looking forward to E3 now to see if we get some juicy info on this.
