Those of you who are a regular Battlenet user (WoW, Overwatch, HotS, Herthstone etc.) will have probably noticed a new Icon has creeped in beside Destiny 2 over the last few days, that of CoD: Black Ops 4. Well on Thursday night Activation/Treyarch hosted a community revel event for the game and as part of this was the numerous trailers for different features , you know things like the cinematic trailer, the behind the scenes PC trailer, the 3 different zombie modes/maps, multiplayer including the new Blackout reveal a battle royal mode and of course singleplayer.... oh wait there is no singleplayer, yup that right it has been confirmed that there will be no traditional campaign and that this was the plan from the start of development, a bold strategy for sure. Let's see if it pays off.

What they are doing however is doubling down on multiplayer content, adding more focus to the popular "Zombies" mode and jumping on the Battle Royal bandwagon by introducing their new Blackout game mode. They claim that this will be a uniquely black ops experience, by playing as your favorite characters and battling through iconic settings from the Black Ops universe whilst featuring weapons; equipment; land, sea, and air vehicles; RC-XDs; traps; and even Zombies all of this played on the "biggest map in Call of Duty history". Admittedly I'm not the biggest CoD fan the last one I owned was infact Black Ops 1 way back in 2010, but this has caught my attention as I'm interested in how this BR mode plays out, especially since typically your BR games are a lot slower pace than your CoD/Battlefield style FPS. If they get it right they could really sweep the rug out from under PUBG/Fortnite. Since the CoD player base is so good to begin with you are already looking at something that will be a popular mode, then I imagine they will do a lot better job with optimization and how well the game runs vs PUBG whilst grabbing any one who likes the idea of BR modes but is put off by the 3rd person aspect of PUBG/Fortnite, or the building mechanics of Fortnite, myself included. Saying that there has been no gameplay on show for this ambitious mode, so I'm not about to jump on the hype train just yet, I'll probably wait till a open beta or some reviews on release, which is some time away in October (12th).

They seem to be putting a lot of effort into pushing the Zombies mode, arguably my favorite mode from the first one so if the multiplayer/BR modes turn out to be half decent and the Zombie mode is as fun as they say I could very well end up picking this up. I have been hankering for a pick-up-and-play style shooter, as I never got into battlefield 1. So I'm hoping that either this or the new Battlefield game which is due to be announced on the 23rd of this month will be a solid pick up.

Anyway here is a dump of videos from the reveal encase you missed them online.
