The update, coming July 25, is called Operation Frontier Shield and is free on PlayStation 4, Windows PC and Xbox One. Respawn will hold another free trial for Titanfall 2 the following weekend, on all three platforms. Players will be able to take part in the training gauntlet and “The Beacon” a story mission. Most importantly they’ll have “full access” to multiplayer. The free trial runs from Friday, July 28, through to Sunday, July 30.

Free Trial:

  • Starts on the 28th, ends on the 30th.
  • Access to full Multiplayer, one level from the campaign.

Elite Weapon and Titan Skins:

  • Paid cosmetics.
  • Give players and teammates XP boosts.
  • Completion of the various difficulty modes will leave a special insignia on your Titan (Elite only)
  • Elite Titan skins on sale (starting on the 25th) until the 28th.

Other:

  • The Titans you play in FD will be given ranks based on completion in the game mode, visible to your teammates. Only for this game mode, but Respawn is teasing the possibility of this carrying over to the entire multiplayer.
