Bad puns aside, the Destiny 2 beta has finished and I feel it was definitely too short for my liking (Beta duration, not content); I never even tried all the game modes, but I guess that is more my fault than Blizzard/Bungie, as for whatever reason I had it in my head that it would last all weekend. I installed it and give it a shot on Wednesday, thinking I will get any loose ends tied up and give it a true play over the weekend. Alas, it ended yesterday and although I only managed to play the small single player intro I was impressed with what we got - the game ran well, looked good and felt nice. There were worries of it being a console port, and not feeling like a true PC game, but bar a small few menu/UI interactions, it never felt that way to me.
The only criticism I had was the fact that, coming into the game having never played Destiny1, much was not explained in the way of controls or abilities. I managed to figure most of it out by heading into key bindings and experimenting, but I was still a tad surprised to find a lack of on screen instructions; maybe I just missed some and admittedly never played much so perhaps the short intro campaign was designed to be that way.
Regardless, my biggest qualm now is that even with the game being officially released on the 6th of September for consoles (PS4 and XB1), PC users like myself have to wait another 7 weeks before we can jump in, which is a hefty chunk of time. I don't know if this is an exclusive early access period to make console users feel wanted type of thing or if they legitimately still have a lot of work to do on the PC version. The game felt fairly solid and polished to me, either way time passes quickly and I'm sure before we know it we will be diving into the thick of it.
Thinking you want to buy Destiny 2 but your GPU won't do the game justice? Well then Nvidia and Bungie have a treat for you as right now Destiny 2 comes free with selected GTX 1080 and 1080ti graphic cards, and here at Ciaran's Customs we will search out to ensure we get you the best deal, be it for an upgrade or a custom build. Also, we will be extending our free game ready service for any build or upgrades that come with a free game, so as soon as you get your PC home and set up all you have to do is turn it on and hit play!!!
Console players will be having their fingers twitch in excitement as the games release is less than a week away, while PC players will have ignore the hype and find something else to tide them over until way into October(24th) before they get a taste of the game. Which is harder said than done as yesterday the games official youtube channel uploaded another awesome trailer. Watch below
