For those who don't know, Cyberpunk 2077 is an upcoming game by the same developers as the very successful Witcher franchise, CD Projekt Red. It was way back in May 2012 when the game was announced with the famed teaser trailer released online back in January 2013. The trailer received a few nominations and even a few awards: The People's Choice award for Best Animation at the 2013 FITC Awards, the award for Best Trailer at the 2013 Machinima Inside Gaming Awards, and a nomination for Best Video Game Trailer at the 2013 Golden Trailer Awards.
A funding application for the Polish government noted that the release could potentially take place in 2019, and confirmed the employment of REDengine 4, the company's newest and most advanced game engine. The games official Twitter page last tweet before yesterdays "*beep*" was way back on 5th December 2013, so fans are getting geared for some big news after the twitter account has "come alive" once again.
"It will be a story-based RPG experience with amazing single-player playthroughs, but we're going to add multiplayer features"-CD Projekt Red, 2013 |

Very little is known about the game and CD Projekt Red have kept tight lipped on the subject so far. What we do know:
- It is a role-playing video game played from either a first-person or third-person perspective, akin to The Elder Scrolls and Fallout games
- It is set in an open world cyberpunk themed metropolis called Night City.
- There will be many characters in the game who do not speak English, so you will have to purchase translator implants for your character to understand what these characters are saying. The more advanced a translator implant is, the quality of translations increase.
- There's a feature in this world called Braindance, wherein the player character can experience the emotions, brain processes and muscle movements of another character as though they were their own.Â
- The game will have an online component as well.
No doubt this tweet is to remind people about the game and to build up the hype train before a proper announcement at a later date. If this is true then it clearly worked - it's accumulated more than 2,000 retweets and 4,000 Likes on Twitter in less than an hour, and has sparked numerous articles and publications on gaming news sties as well as debate and discussions on various gaming forums.
Admittedly the trailer is pretty awesome, check it out below.Â
